Program Notes
The Farmakeia Trilogy expresses the human experience of depression and the complex relationship society has with the pharmaceuticals used to treat it. The title, Farmakeia, is derived from the Greek word "φαρμακεία," which referred to the practice of using drugs or potions, often in the context of healing or magic. Over time, the term has evolved to have connotations of both healing and poisoning, reflecting the dual nature of substances that can either cure or harm depending on their use.
